Rules:

1. The race is run in accordance with the rules of A.S.A and CGA. Athletics indemnify the national, provincial and regional bodies, sponsors and organisers of the race against all or any actions of whatsoever nature: whatever same may be arising out of their participation of the race.

2. Registered athletes, who must be members of a club affiliate to A.S.A to wear their club colours and 2017 licence numbers (front and back).

3. Robor Scaffolding race number to be worn on the front of the athletics vest on top of the provincial ASA license number not concealing Old Mutual at the top of the license.

4. Minimum age of the competitors on the day of the race is 16 for the half marathon and 20 years for the marathon and ultra marathon. Numeric age categories ID tags to be worn on the back and front of the vest and clearly visible. Proof of age must be provided on the day of the race. Fun run race entrants to be 9 years or older on race day. 

5. Temporary Licences will be available at the start. Temporary licenced athletes to wear plain clothing with issued temporary licence numbers.

6. Walkers welcome for the 21.1km. Walkers to comply with the international walking rules.

7. Walkers to wear identifying W's clearly visible back and front.

8. Wheelchair athletes welcome, but due to safety reasons may only participate in the 21.1km race. Only the following wheelchair athletes may compete; normal athlete chair and a rugby, basketball or tennis wheelchair. Other wheelchairs will not be accepted due to safety reasons.

9. No seconding allowed. 5 hour cut-off for the marathon with an additional cut-off at +/- 27km mark at 4 hours. Ultra marathon is 6 hours with an additional cut-off at the 5 hours 15 minutes at +/- 41.5km.

10. Proof of age of prize winners may be required and to be presented to referees before prize giving. Prizes will be withheld until age is confirmed.

11. No blades, cyclists or mechanically operated devices allowed in the race.

12. Regrettably no animals will be allowed on the route of this race.

13. No refunds will be entertained.

14. International athletes must provide a clearance letter from their country of origin to the referee in the event of them winning a prize.

15. Prize winners must be present at prize giving.

16. Athletes are only eligible for prizes if ALL the information is filled in on the race stickers or tear off numbers.

17. Wearing headphones/earphones is prohibited.

18. Athletes may not run in another athlete's race number unless by prior arrangement with the race organizer.

19. The race organizer retains the right to refuse entry and eject persons under the influence of drugs or alcohol, who are disorderly, or engage in inappropriate behaviour, vandalism or evade paying for admission.

20. Licenced athletes who do not wear their 2017 licence numbers must purchase a temporary licence on the day or face disqualification. Athletes who participate without buying a race entry will be disqualified, will not be entitled to any benefits associated with the race and will be liable for a double entry fee charge.

21. Habitual offenders (those who regularly participate without purchasing a race entry) will be called to a CGA disciplinary.

22. Licenced athletes not wearing club colours may be disqualified.

23. Race/distance dependent: 5km minimum age in 9 years. 10km minimum age is 15 years. 21.1km minimum age is 16 years. 42.2km and Ultra minimum age is 20 years.

24. Objections must be lodge 30 minutes (before or after prize giving) in writing to the chief referee accompanied by R300 which is refundable if the appeal is upheld.

25. Athletes are only eligible for prize money for the race they have entered.

26. All athletes participate at their own risk. Athletes acknowledge by entering the event that they are medically fit to participate. All athletes must supply the name and contact number of their next of kin on both the race numbers and entry form

27. Littering is not allowed. Athletes are to dispose of any litter in appropriate bins. Athletes can be disqualified if they litter.
